Are you being judgmental or discerning?

Are you being
judgmental or
discerning?

As you know we live in a fast-paced, information-saturated world and the ability to be discerning has never been more crucial. Being discerning means having the ability to judge well, to sift through the noise and identify what is genuinely valuable and true. This skill is essential not just in our personal lives, but also in our professional and social spheres. It allows us to make better decisions, build healthier relationships, and navigate the complexities of modern life with wisdom and clarity.

The Flood of Information

The internet and social media have transformed the way we access and consume information. While this has democratized knowledge, it has also led to an overwhelming flood of data, opinions, and misinformation. We are in an age of information overload! In this context, discernment becomes a vital tool. It helps us to differentiate between credible sources and unreliable ones, to recognize bias, and to understand the nuances of different perspectives. Without discernment, we risk being misled, manipulated, or simply overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information.

Making Informed Decisions

Discernment is at the heart of informed decision-making - and it is through the heart we should make our decisions.

We need to develop our intuition, listen to that “gut feeling” and switch off our brain, and follow what we ‘feel” is right.

In our healing workshops, I often talk about the importance of hanging out with people who make us feel good.

People who are always whining and complaining affect our energy field and very soon we can find we are doing the same – lowering our vibration to their level.

So – are we being judgmental – or just discerning?

I have to say, when I receive healing from another healer, I have to “feel” that their energy is right for me, and on the odd occasion, I have refused to receive healing because I “sense” there is a mismatch.

I don’t feel this is being selfish or judgmental but like all light workers, we spend considerable time raising and keeping our vibration as high as we can and therefore need to protect our energy field whenever possible.

Building Healthy Relationships

In our interpersonal relationships, discernment helps us to understand and navigate complex human dynamics. It enables us to recognize healthy relationships and distinguish them from toxic ones. This skill is particularly important in the realms of romantic relationships, friendships, and professional interactions. By being discerning, we can identify people who genuinely care for us and those who may have ulterior motives. This awareness allows us to build more meaningful and fulfilling connections.

Professional Success

In the professional world, discernment can set us apart from our peers. It helps us to identify opportunities that align with our goals and values and to avoid those that may lead us astray. It also aids in recognizing the true intentions behind business proposals, partnerships, and collaborations. A discerning professional is seen as wise, reliable, and insightful, qualities that are highly valued in any field.

Personal Growth

On a more personal level, discernment fosters growth and self-improvement. It encourages us to reflect on our beliefs, habits, and choices, and to make adjustments that lead to a more fulfilling and authentic life. By being discerning, we can identify the practices, people, and environments that nurture our well-being and those that do not. This self-awareness is key to living a life that is true to our values and aspirations.

Spiritual and Emotional Well-being

For those engaged in holistic healing or spiritual practices, discernment is essential. It allows us to connect with energies, practices, and teachings that genuinely resonate with our soul's journey. In the realm of energy healing, discernment helps practitioners and clients alike to identify methods and modalities that are truly beneficial. It ensures that the healing process is both authentic and effective, leading to deeper emotional and spiritual well-being.

So next time you are faced with a decision in your life - listen to your heart, be discerning and all will be well!

Try it and see!
