Gratitude Improves Psychological Health

Did you know that gratitude improves psychological health?

Gratitude reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert Emmons, a leading gratitude researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and well-being.

His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and reduces depression.

My own experience is that when I have shown gratitude to another person – I feel good!

This is not the same as feeding our ego – you don’t have to go around telling everyone that you have helped someone in some way .

Giving a few dollars to someone in need is more powerful if you keep the deed to yourself. It is not a reason to boast – but just done quietly, without fuss, creates a good vibration for both giver and receiver.

As Albert Schweitzer said” At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.  Each of us has the cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us”

Remember – “Nothing can dim the light that shines within”

With Love & Light,
Roger
